CALLING ALL MONSTER MAKERS! For our final show of 2025, The Drawing Room will host The Monster Art Show, which originated at our 210 Clement St. Gallery in the summer of 2024.  The Monster Art Show delves into the world of monstrosity, which has often and historically been used as a label to denigrate, but it is equally a place of joy, expression, and play. Bring on the weird and wonderful curiosities!  

As always, this call is open to Bay Area artists of all ages and experiences. All mediums are welcome, including video. This is an open call, but the number of accepted works will be limited. Although the theme is intentionally broad, we will be curating and seeking out collectible works.  

We encourage artists to provide prints and unframed originals for sale in the print rack. 

EXHIBITION DATES: November 22nd, 2025 - January 11th, 2026

CALL FOR ART OPENS: October 16th
CALL FOR ART CLOSES: November 2nd

NOTIFICATION DATE: November 5th

WORK DROP OFF:  November 9th - November 16th

Opening Reception Saturday, November 22nd, 4-9pm  

Fee: Sliding scale $5-$25, payable either via Venmo (@drawingroomsf), Zelle (415-666-6731) or check mailed to The Drawing Room Inc., 3701 Sacramento St. Ste 125, SF 94118.   If you would like a donation receipt from our non profit, you can pay here.  Submission fees go directly into our campaign to pay for the space and people it takes to host these exhibitions. Ability to pay has no bearing acceptance into the show.   

Please note that The Drawing Room will take a 50% commission on sales of work, so please price your work accordingly.

Submission guidelines:

-All 2D works must arrive ready to install on the wall, with DRings and wire, sawtooth hanger or cleat system. Works not ready to hang will not be accepted due to the short time we have to curate and get the show open to the public. -Multi-media/Video submissions must be compatible as a mp4 video file. 

-Works will be on display until the exhibition ends, except in special cases (overseas buyer, etc.).
