EXHIBITION DATES: NOVEMBER 9-JANUARY 5.
ARTIST RECEPTION/DRAWING ROOM ANNIVERSARY NOVEMBER 9, 5-9PM

Please join us for the grand (RE)OPENING of our Mission street location, showcasing a beloved friend and artist of The Drawing Room and a foundational part of our growth and community building. 2024 marks 30 years of traveling to San Francisco for Christian: the opening date of the show, November 9th, marks exactly 35 years since the Berlin wall, without which he would have never had the chance to come here. This body of work consists collages on personal paper sheets collected during trips to San Francisco (MUNI tickets, receipts, etc.). We are honored to share this space and our new adventure on Mission street with Christian.

"Christian Rothenhagen also known as deerBLN is a fine artist and designer from Berlin. He is known for architecture focused drawings and installations capturing the changes of Berlin, his home town and San Francisco, his home away from home.
[His] art is a testament to the transformation of cities. In his artworks, he creates visual pauses. The transformative moments that he tries to ‘freeze’ are conveyed through very clean drawings of urban details, very personal and powerful documents of urban perception, realised with perfect line work and using various media like Japanese alcohol markers, ink or graphite and playing with materials like (aged) paper, cardboard, MDF, … wood, and sometimes resin layers. Rothenhagen’s art is mostly presented in galleries, but some of it can also be found in the streets. Over the last two+ decades, his works have been exhibited in solo and group shows all over the globe."
