Fall OPEN STUDIOS Series

Open Studios

This year's city-wide event is back on LIVE, however things are a little different this year. Instead of dividing up the city, artists have been given free range to create their Open Studio event when they want and where they can do it. A lot of artists have lost their space due to COVID or have moved to a new location so this enables artists to participate when it will work best for them to connect to their communities. The Drawing Room is embracing this new plan and opening the Gallery up to a few other artists who could really benefit from the location and space.

We're kicking things off properly October 1st, along with most other Mission district artists and host to Tisha Kenny and Sophia Lee in the Gallery this first weekend of the month. Tisha & Sophia will transform the Gallery with Tisha's Ikibana and floral paintings along side Sophia's site specific installation and mixed media works made from recycled wrappers.

Studio Renee DeCarlo will be open throughout the month as usual, however will be hosting a reception on Friday October 8 from 5-8pm. Renée's studio will be open daily Tuesday-Sunday 12-6pm through October 17th.

Our final guest artist will be Gustavo Castillo who will be sharing his works for the first time with Open Studios. Gustavo's portrait and landscapes are stunning representations of his technical skills with a ballpoint pen. Gustavo will be hosting a reception Friday October 15 from 5-8pm and will be open Sat/Sunday following from 11-6.
