With this show we are revisiting a theme that we addressed back in October 2020 at our very first Drawing Room Annex, at the height of the COVID pandemic and in the midst of a very fraught presidential election.  Now, four years later, we want to ask artists to respond to how they are feeling in this current moment, in a time of yet another contentious and polarizing presidential election.  This is against the backdrop of serious global conflict, a rise in authoritarian regimes, devastating climate change and the reversal of established civil rights. As you look ahead to the coming year, what do you envision?  Generational change? Hope? Despair? Progress? Peace? Conflict? (Dis)Empowerment?  While the theme is broad, artists must provide a narrative demonstrating how their work(s) fits with the theme.

Fee: Sliding scale $5-$25. Submission fees go directly into our campaign to pay for the space and people it takes to host these exhibitions. Ability to pay has no bearing on acceptance into the show.  Please submit your fee via venmo (@drawingroomsf) or drop off cash/check to 599 Valencia or 210 Clement.

Please note that 50% of revenue goes to The Drawing Room

Submission guidelines:

-All 2D works must be larger than 10”, and no larger than 30” in any direction.

-All 2D works must arrive ready to install on the wall, with DRings and wire, sawtooth hanger or cleat system. -Multi-media/Video submissions must be compatible as a mp4 video file.

-Works will be on display until the exhibition ends.
