Reduce-Reuse-Recycle?  Styrofoam, ziplocs, mailers, plastic packaging and the latest environmental catastrophe "black plastic"…. The list of materials destined for the black bin is long.  Our recycling system is broken, uneven, inadequate and perpetuating health and environmental risks.  As individuals in a disposable consumer culture, we are often powerless to cope with the mountains of cardboard, plastic and waste we leave in our wake on a daily basis.  This call for art asks artists to submit works and installation proposals that incorporate discarded materials in any form and every bit - consumer waste.  We will consider all media, including video submissions.  

Fee: Sliding scale $5-$25, link to pay here. You may also pay by Venmo (@drawingroomsf 8460), cash or check (mailed to "The Drawing Room Inc. 3701 Sacramento Street #125, San Francisco, CA 94118).  Submission fees go directly into our Art is Light campaign to pay for the space and people it takes to host these exhibitions. Ability to pay has no bearing on acceptance into the show.  

-All 2D works must be larger than 10”, and no larger than 30” in any direction.  If you have a larger submission, please contact us directly.

-We welcome installations, so please contact us (courtney@drawingroomsf.com) if you have a proposal you'd like to discuss.

-All 2D works must arrive ready to install on the wall, with DRings and wire, sawtooth hanger or cleat system. Works not ready to hang will not be accepted due to the short time we have to curate and get the show open to the public. If you need help with this, please reach out directly.

-Multi-media/Video submissions must be compatible as a mp4 video file. 

-Works will be on display until the exhibition ends.

-Sold works will be available for pick up the week after the show closing.  

-Please note that 50% of revenue goes to The Drawing Room LLC
