Candy conjures up feelings of fun childhood memories. Its vibrant colors and textures are a vehicle for visual and tactile exploration for the artist. In this still life, students carefully chose a composition from a reference photo of licorice. The sketch was colored with oil pastels. Form and flare was further added to their confectionare by blending the oil pastels. The final piece spark’s joy and sweet cravings.
