Isabella Norwood-Paulus Grade 12, International High School yin / yang Graphite pencil and tattoo ink on watercolor paper 36" x 36" 2022 Not For Sale
Two tattoo machines are positioned opposite each other within a circle of tattoo ink, forming a contrast between the rigidity of the machines and the fluidity of the ink encircling them. The title of this piece references its composition and symmetry, which vaguely resembles a yin and yang symbol in the way the machines break up the circle, as well as the contrast between organic and inorganic. Harmony and duality are explored through a theme of tattoo.
