Instead of working on different parts of the canvas, Kalin and I worked off of each other, similarly to those games where people tell a story by adding a few words or sentences off of the last person’s contribution. We had no specific vision or person in mind when we started, other than a general agreement that the piece was to be a portrait. Our subject’s final form is up to interpretation, Kalin’s is a drag queen saddened by their cultural inability to freely express themselves.
