My work explores a mix of impressionism and a contemporary art style. With influence from both the diverse paintings of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet, I created a piece that combines both impressionism and modern compositions.
The painting depicts a landscape of a forest. I used several bright colors for the trees and the grass below. The grass was painted with an impasto technique, to create more of a textured appearance. The trees were painted with brushes in a vertical streak, to create the vibrant pattern. Over the course of five months, it took approximately 46 hours to complete. For my recent works, I try to incorporate these techniques into my landscape and portrait paintings.
